Jeff Stroud is Senior Managing Consultant in Global Payments and Emerging Markets. With 23 years experience in the payment industry including work with acquirers, issuers and payment brands, he recently re-joined MasterCard in the Advisors Group to provide expertise in the US migration to EMV.
For the past 13 years, Jeff has focused on EMV adoption in both the Canadian and US markets. Most recently, he spent 18 months consulting with Gemalto, a digital interactions company, to educate US issuers, and other industry members, on EMV. Previously, Jeff worked for MasterCard in the Chip Solutions Group and was responsible for providing EMV expertise in helping Canadian acquirers and issuers with their chip migration projects. During his time at RBC, Jeff was responsible for launching the first chip card product in the Canadian Market in 2003 with RBC’s Avion card, and was an active member in the Canadian Project Management Office (PMO) which was responsible for providing market alignment for the Canadian migration to chip. Jeff has also been an active participant on various initiatives with the Smart Card Alliance (SCA) Payment Council including input to the EMV Roadmap white paper.
