As Group Head for MasterCard Advisors, Edlayne Altheman is responsible for leading the development, management, and growth of the Latin America Caribbean Consulting Services business.
Edlayne began at MasterCard as a Vice President, responsible for the Advisors Business in Brazil in 2005. Her previous work experience includes a two decade-long tenure at high value-added consulting firms, including The Boston Consulting Group; A.T. Kearney; and Booz-Allen & Hamilton in their New York, Chicago, São Paulo and Mexico City offices. She started as an analyst (initial level in consulting), and reached the subsequent positions in less than eight years, becoming one of the youngest partners in consulting, at age 34. In her previous role before joining MasterCard, Edlayne was the partner responsible for the Financial Services Practice in Latin America, focusing on developing retail banking, payments and insurance strategies for the leading institutions in the region.
Before consulting, Edlayne worked for Unilever and Credicard (the largest issuer of credit cards in Brazil at that time), being part of their management training program, having the opportunity to work in different areas of these companies.
Edlayne holds a MBA degree from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of São Paulo, ranking as the best student in her class.
